The following projects have received global nominations at their venue. Nominated projects will join the global judging process, the results of which will be announced in May. Five finalists in each of the five categories will move into the final round of judging by NASA executives.

  NYSPACETAG
  There's no unified classification of NASA data. We solved this by uniformly extracting natural keyphrases from more than 26,000 datasets. It's hard to search keywords if you don't know what they are already, or how they relate. We solved this by building a visual search on our keywords, to allow users to explore concepts, see related concepts, and drill down directly into the data. Since the hackathon, the project has already been picked up for an internal NASA big data workshop.

  VALKYRIE
  Valkyrie is innovative approach for gesture and voice recognition using a "smart" glove and mobile device(Android, iOS or smartwatch). You can use it for home automation as well as controlling devices such as robo arm, robots etc. Valkyrie is connected to the IOT using WiFi, BLE, Bluetooth Classic, UHF RF Transceiver and XBee, using universal protocol called V-API. This is Valkyrie the future way of gesture and voice control.

  This project will incorporate two concepts - a flying platform and a walker robot. This should give him the ability to manoeuvre more efficient, and be flexible enough to solve even more problems than just that of transporting small cargo throughout the facility. This project creates a solution to easily give the targeted cargo's coordinates and destination to where it should be moved. Deployment of such a solution is also solved in very easy-to-implement, elegant manner.

  CROPP-COLTURES-RISKS-OBSERVATION-AND-PREVENTION-PLATFORM
  CROPP (Cultures Risks Observation and Prevention Platform) is an easy and user-friendly application designed to help farmers in monitoring their lands. The service will provide data gathered at two different levels. In situ measurements will be merged with satellite observations to give users practical information about possible risks that could threaten their crops.

  We want to create a mobile robot platform that is capable of extracting data from nearby objects using on-board sensors present in an Android Smartphone. We want to harness the power of these tiny but powerful devices and integrate them with image processing software such as OpenCV, in order to get a better understanding of everyday objects around us.

  The NatEv Explorer project contributes in the discovery of the natural hazards and catastrophes that happen every second around the world.
