An educational game that aims to get the player into using NASA's Orbiter images of Mars to identify lava tubes and then use strategy to create a viable colony through the efficient use of local resources and sporadic incomes from Earth.

This project is solving the Survivor: Mars Lava Tubes challenge.

Mars Base One is a 2D game based on the Unity Game Engine and inspired by games like Terraria. In this game the player has to find a lava tube and then look for resources in it and build a base to protect from radiation, sand storms and have a place to take out his helmet. Bases can be bigger and bigger, you can take more astronauts and move to new tubes. The final objective is to build a sustainable colony that can survive without having to request any resource from Earth.

This game will continue to be developed after the Space Apps Challenge is over.
