clean-water-finder-2

The purpose of our project is to create a crowed-sourced website to help people finding clean/drinkable water near them.

This project is solving the Clean Water Mapping challenge.

Description

Finding Water

To find some water, simply open the website and use the geolocation to find nearby water locations. Each pins on the map has a different color corresponding to the quality of the water.

By clicking on pins, you can also see what data has been measured to determine the rating and see others people comments/ratings.

Crowed-Sourced Data Acquisition

Everybody can add a new location where we may find some water. They are highly encouraged to take a sample of the water and send it to a lab.

People can also add a rate and a comment on each locations to warn users of a new risk or simply tell this is a known safe source of water for a long time.

Water Analysis

Knowing if water is clean and safe to drink is a complexe task. You may find bacteria, heavy metal, parasitisms, etc. Instead of taking risks, we think that people should be able to send water to a lab to analyse it. This lab will then rate the quality of the water and add every data they found on our website via a form.
