snazzy-space-suit

a space suit created by a 12 year old

This project is solving the Space Wearables: Designing for Today’s Launch & Research Stars challenge.

Description
As a child, I will be the worlds next generation of adults. It will be my job to further the human race and the sooner I start, the sooner the world will be a better place. But right now, the world is really the only place and my aims with this is to make space exploration easier and better for your average Joe. Starting at the helmet, this suit has a heat seeking lens, a mic, a flashlight, a camera, a laser pointer (for pointing for the camera), a speaker, and all of which have an on and off switch. the helmet has a little bit of wiggle room with pads inside encase you fall. the glass you see through gives you a wide range of visibility also with shock protection, anti-glare, UV ray protection, and heat resistance.

The suit has heat and cold resistance along with a harder surface but softer at the joints. it also has air tanks on the fore arms so the the gloves suction stays strong (it sucks the air out of the suction cups). The suit has magnetic knee and foot pads for weight and to stick to the space craft. it also has solar panels in conventional spots to try and have more energy. More energy equals a longer time out of a ship. On the back of the shins are Pogo stick like mechanisms that will allow you to travel on the surface of a planet faster. the suit itself is light and meant for maneuverability.

The tool belt is held to the suit by loops, like a regular belt except that it's stronger. The belt carries a fiber optic cable that is attach to a grappling hook, a hand shovel, and also a hand held hydraulic drill. One of the most important tools is a device that sucks air out of the atmosphere and uses it to compress the suit by inserting it into the valve.

With this new suit, I hope to finally do the impossible and discover the undiscovered.
