qspace-java-android-app-for-quantum-inspired-assessment-of-spacecraft-fire-safety

Quantum-inspired algorithm shows fire alarm based on data visualization and audio warning. Java Android app is developed for this purpose. In the quantum-inspired algorithm, safe situation corresponds to qubit |0>, fire alarm – to |1>. Rotation gate is used for the movement between those states (rotation angles equal 0 and pi/2 respectively). If rotation angle is greater than pi/2 after several sequential rotation operators, angle is considered as pi/2. Initially, angle equals 0.

This project is solving the 3-2-1 LIFTOFF: Launch that Rocket! challenge.

Description

QSpace project’s main aim is to improve existing software apps in the area of spacecraft fire safety

during lunchtime and usual mode. This aim is achieved by the development of the front-end part

based on Java Android app (data visualization and audio warning), middle-end part based on the

quantum-inspired algorithm, and back-end part based on software/hardware for the signals simulation/

acquisition respectively. Java Android multimedia app is developed in Android Studio using user-friendly

interface for the 3D visualization and audio warning. Three levels (lowest “green”, middle “yellow”, and

highest “red”) of fire alarms are shown. In the quantum-inspired algorithm, safe situation corresponds

to qubit |0>, fire alarm – to |1>. Rotation gate is used for the movement between those states (rotation

angles θ equal 0 and π/2 respectively). If angle θ is greater than π/2 after several sequential rotation

operators, θ is considered as π/2. Initially, θ equals 0. In the back-end part, software simulates different

signals which are processed by the quantum unit, and then they are sent to front-end part showing to

end-user. In addition, hardware part (if it is in use) acquires or generates data which are sent to the

quantum unit as well. Thus, fire alarm system is improved by more user-friendly data representation and

innovative quantum-inspired algorithm.
