We are trying to develop an android app to help farmers with better and pest-free farming. In this app they will be allowed to share their experiences among each-other and build a database that can be used for predicting the optimal usage of pesticides with minimal effects on the environment.This project is solving the Crop Alert – Learning From the Growers challenge. Our ultimate aim is to help farmers to do a clever farming using our app "Grow Safe". Sometimes it happens that farmers do not have enough knowledge about the pesticide they are using and leads to over dosage of a particular pesticide which results in reverse effects like pesticide resistance, crop damage etc. We are going to design a mathematical model which can predict the optimal usage of pesticides based on ecological interaction among pests, their natural enemies and pesticides. For a particular query if we have the appropriate data in our database like killing efficiency rate of a pesticide, decay rate of pesticide, growth rate of pests etc. we are going to put it in our mathematical model and simulate the results. And in case we do not have the data then we will the average of the data provided by reliable users. We rank the reliability of the user on the basis of their answers to known questions.
