Our application CERES is aimed to solve the problem of pests and disease to crops and plants. It is a warning system for farmers to use pesticides before disease spreads to their crops/plants.This project is solving the Crop Alert – Learning From the Growers challenge. Description
Web and mobile based app helps farmers to protect their crops/plants against pests and disease with. It uses crowd sourcing and satellite data for analysis and preditiction.
- Using geo - location for farmers to tag the position and upload photos and comments of the damaged crops/plants.
- Using satellite data for weather prediction and also predicting where the disease is most likely to spread.
In this way farmers can use pesticides before disease spreads to their area and save their plants. With the user friendly interface, they can post photos, share their experience and knowledge.
Additional option for the application will also be advise, on how fast farmers should drive while spraying pesticides on their crops for optimal use.
