water-explorers

A survey done in January 2015 showed that around 750 million people lack access to clean water, and more than 840 000 die each year from water related disease. Based on this our team created a web app that has mapping of clean water in particular countries. We developed a user friendly interface, which will enable any user to easily access the necessary info on precipitation, ground water flow, as well as info about the microbiological parameters of the water resources in the selected country.

This project is solving the Clean Water Mapping challenge.

Description

The main purpose of our team was to create a web application that clearly depicts 3D mapping of resources for safe and clean drinking water. The designed interface is user friendly, many of the resources are presented through graphs and pie chart enabling easy read and understanding. On the map several countries on different continents are added, by clicking on any of them the user can read main information for the country, with additional information dedicated to water availability, water quality and sanitation. Through this data we are identifying areas that are experiencing water stress, freshwater resources, water supply and water statistics based on microbiological parameters.
