third-eye

Third Eye consists of a system of autonomous devices such as self-driven rovers which can navigate unknown areas without being guided. Such a device collects periodic data about its environment and important events (such as dangers, warnings, potential sources of interest) and upload them on a server in real time. The server exposes an API that allows people to create third-party application to tap in to the data, monitor the device and send it requests.

This project is solving the Sensor Yourself challenge.

Description

Third Eye consists of a system of autonomous devices such as self-driven rovers which can navigate unknown areas without being guided. Such a device collects periodic data about its environment and important events (such as dangers, warnings, potential sources of interest) and upload them on a server in real time. The server exposes an API that allows people to create third-party application to tap in to the data, monitor the device and send it requests. The applications of the devices can range from guiding the blind, exploring unknown areas or places inaccessible to people, search and rescue, etc. The autonomous devices can be given targets to follow such as description of an environment and report back when they have found areas meeting those criteria.
