cloudkittens

Finding kittens in the clouds, learning about our planet, and having fun at the same time! We will use the image tiles from NASA's fleet of earth observation satellites and algorithmically select images to serve to the game players. We will be using the API provided by NASA at https://earthdata.nasa.gov/labs/worldview/. Future developments include machine image processing, and harnessing developments in AI to enable machine learning.

This project is solving the Volcanoes, Icebergs, and Cats from Space challenge.

Description

We will create a mobile game that involves finding patterns in clouds that look like kittens, amongst other things. We will gamify and reward achievements in various ways including badges, upvoting, and puzzle solving. The games and educational challenges will be set and scored by a crowdsourced team of researchers who will download an app that allows them to set the challenges but also uses the processing power on their computers or mobile device to analyse the images.
