We incorporated three interesting and ground breaking technology concept ides, to improve the functionality of the next generation space suits.

This project is solving the Space Wearables: Designing for Today’s Launch & Research Stars challenge.


Current Space suits are heavy, lack of mobility and flexibility, astronauts have very limited movement and field of vision, but most importantly they have very restricted amount of oxygen to perform their space walks. We are designing a suit for a research astronaut on Mars, that has doubled the time they can stay out of the vehicle, few times lighter than current suits, with high level of mobility and flexibility. We plan to achieve all that by implementing three ideas: 1. Mechanical pressure material with temperature regulation system, 2. new unconventional source of oxygen and 3. self fitting mechanism to reduce the cost of production.
