Welcome to the 2015 NASA Space Apps Challenge in Mojave! This is an international, interdisciplinary three day event dedicated to collaborative problem solving and innovation. This event is free and open to the public. Engineers, computer programmers, students, artists, and techies are all invited to participate. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, and have fun!
This event is being hosted by We Are Mojave (WAM), a sponsored project of Social Good. WAM's mission is to bring the community together for all to uplift, learn, and grow.
Location
We will be at 16916 CA-14 Mojave, CA, next to the Stater Brothers Grocery Store. While you're here, you may want to explore the Mojave Air & Spaceport, just 2 miles away. As home to Scaled Composites, The Spaceship Company, and other innovative companies, it's a great place to find inspiration for the weekend's challenges.
Schedule
Friday, April 10: 7pm-9pm Welcome and Orientation
We will use this time to get to know each other, discuss challenges, and divide into teams.
Saturday April 11: 9am-9pm Working Day
A full day of work on your selected challenge!
Sunday April 12: 9am-4pm Working Day, 4pm-5pm Judging and Awards, 5pm-8pm Yuri's Night Party
Projects will be judged on Sunday afternoon and all participants are invited to stay for We Are Mojave's Yuri's Night Party!
Accommodations
Participants should bring a laptop and any other materials they may need. WiFi will be provided by RadioShack. 3D Printing services will be provided by Behold 3D Me and Innovation Centers of America. RadioShack at 16910 CA-14 is offering a discount to SAC attendees for any materials or supplies you may need.
Box lunches will be available on Saturday and Sunday for $5, and the venue is convenient to several local eateries and a grocery store.
