  • SPACE APPS MIKKELI

    The international Space App Challenge is an annual event across the globe to improve life in space and earth. It is inspirational and interdisciplinary hackathon for everyone: coders, business developers, designers, graphic artist, concept designers, engineers, hackers, hardware enthusiasts, students, teachers and above all for people who wish to create and build together. Participants are encouraged to build teams with different skills and knowledge.

    The Space Apps will be held in Mikkeli during Saturday and Sunday 11-12.4.2015. The event includes a pre-hackathon Data Bootcamp on Friday 10.4.2015. Special theme for the Data Bootcamp will be women in data. However, it is an easy way to get started in data and hackathons for everyone. The event is for everyone, not just techies.

    The Space Apps Mikkeli is hosted by Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (Mamk) in co-operation with a few local organizations. It will be an unique event and first of this scale in Mikkeli. Be there and be awesome.


    Venue
    The event will take place in Xinno (N-building) at Mamk's main campus. More information: http://www.mamk.fi/xinno (in Finnish). There is plenty of room for working, resting and enjoying the event. It will hold approx. 60 participants and provides modern facilities.

    The pre-hackathon Data Bootcamp will take place on Friday 10.4 16:00 - 20:00.
    The Space Apps hackathon will take place from Saturday 11.4 09:00 to Sunday 12.4 18:00.

    2Do Event is providing side events and easy going activities for relaxing between the hacking sessions.


    Local challenges
    Mikkeli Entrepreneurship Society (MikkeliES) challenges you to create a business, product or service concept based on any of the NASA's official challenges. There will be three judges from the board of MikkeliES. As a reward, you can earn a guaranteed spot in AHJO 2015 acceleration programme for startups and entrepreneurial businesses.

    Hacklab Mikkeli challenges you to create something completely awesome. The coolest hack, whether hardware, software or something totally different, will be rewarded with a free one year membership and one month unlimited access to the lab. There will be three judges from the Hacklab community.

    Partners include 2Do Event and Survey in Pocket.
